Interactive Museum of Music Malaga

The MIMMA (Interactive Museum of Music Malaga) places the visitor in a dialogue with the exhibition. It has an important collection of musical instruments from all over the world and from all eras. It has “Please to play” rooms, in which the public is encouraged to learn through their own experimentation, playing the instruments.

The museum has several types of spaces of different colors:

White:

These areas are characterised by large – scale instruments and installations. Here you will find pianos and installations such as the Guidonian Hand or the Passage of the Muses. In addition to this, you will find the temporary exhibitions and archaeological ruins from the Roman empire and from the Medieval city walls.

Black:

In these rooms you will find the permanent collection, you can discover more about the origins of music, folklore, musical ensembles, music from five continents, mechanical music, recorded sound and electronic music.

Red:

The red spaces called “Please Play” are the most characteristic of the museum. Here visitors have the opportunity to play the instruments and experiment with music with the help of a virtual teacher who explains how to play instruments such as the violin, udu, cello, guitar, Cajón flamenco, etc.
