Malinche is proud to be the first musical in Spain to offer performances entirely in English, giving audiences (nationals and tourists) the chance to enjoy this great story in two languages. There are two performances in English (with Spanish subtitles) every week, on Friday afternoons at 17:00h and Saturday afternoons at 16:00h.
Malinche is a musical show created by Nacho Cano, who has conceived the project over several years, inspired by Malinche's story of love, struggle and survival. The central story takes us back to one of the most important episodes in history, the birth of mestizaje. The musical narrates the life of Malinche, an extraordinary woman who navigated between two worlds and acted as a mediator between two cultures on the brink of conflict. In this context, a love blossoms that symbolises the union between Mexico and Spain, two brotherly peoples.
This musical breaks barriers by fusing two seemingly opposing musical genres: flamenco and urban dance/hip-hop, achieving a bold and vibrant experience. Malinche has received the applause of more than 350,000 spectators and has received the award for Best Musical at the Musical Theatre Awards 2023.
