The Al-Ándalus train was launched in 1985 as a way of touring and exploring Andalucía. Following several setbacks, the train ceased operations in 2005 and was stabled in Sevilla. In 2011, the train was meticulously restored and redecorated, and started travelling again in 2012, this time on Iberian gauge tracks. The wider gauge created more interior space, which, along with a length of around 500 metres, makes Al-Ándalus a real palace on wheels. This is a journey back to the Belle Époque of exquisiteness and sophistication, with today’s technology.

The Suites and Rooms carriages that today make up the Al Ándalus train belong to the same series as those built in France at the beginning of the last century for the travel of members of the British monarchy between Calais and the Côte d'Azur.
Together with the saloon cars, also manufactured around the same time, they make up a unique train in which original elements coexist with the latest technical advances, for maximum comfort and safety.
The entire train, both rooms and suites as well as common areas, are connected internally allowing the free transit of travellers.

Lounge cars
The four lounge cars of the Al Ándalus train are authentic railway gems, built between 1928 and 1930 and remodelled to offer you the greatest comfort and safety.
Breakfast and lunch or dinner prepared by our chef are served daily in these common areas. The bar car is open from early in the morning until the early hours of the morning. They are the best place to have a relaxing drink or listen to music in the piano car.
Life on board
Imagine a luxury train where you can enjoy and relax, making it your lounge, your transport, your meeting place, your restaurant, your room or your dance floor. Where every day you will wake up in a different place with unique landscapes from the comfort of your room or any of our evocative lounges.
During the day, when we will be making our visits, we recommend comfortable clothing and footwear. In the evenings, more formal attire may be chosen, although no particular etiquette is required at any time.
After dinner, you can enjoy an evening of entertainment. Every evening there are live performances or dancing on board. You can also choose to have a quiet drink in one of the lounge cars, go for a stroll around the local area or retire to the privacy of your room earlier in the day.
To facilitate rest, the train remains stationary at the station at the end of the day.
