Día 1. Bilbao - Frias - Espinosa de Los Monteros
Reception of the passengers at Bilbao station in the early afternoon and the beginning of this rail journey through northern Spain. Once settled on board the train, the journey continues into the province of Burgos, reaching Espinosa de los Monteros. From there, we journey into the historic setting of Frías and the Tobera waterfalls by bus, for a first contact with the medieval and natural essence of the Merindades. Dinner on board and night in Espinosa de los Monteros.
Día 2. Espinosa de Los Monteros - Palencia Romanesque heritage - Cistierna
Enjoy breakfast on board as the train approaches Mataporquera, the gateway to a day devoted to exploring the Romanesque treasures of Palencia, right along the Camino de Santiago. The itinerary includes locations such as Carrión de los Condes, Frómista and Saldaña, as well as the area around the Canal de Castilla. The journey continues with a visit to La Olmeda Roman Villa, one of the most important archaeological sites in northern Spain. In the afternoon, the train continues to Cistierna, where dinner is served and the night is spent at the destination.
Día 3. Cistierna - San Feliz - León
While guests enjoy breakfast, the train heads towards San Feliz, the point from which the last leg of the journey begins. From there, we will travel by coach to León to explore its historical centre, the Basilica of San Isidoro, and the Cathedral, one of the masterpieces of Spanish Gothic architecture. After enjoying some free time and lunch, your rail adventure draws to a close.
Payment Methods
Transfer or credit card. To make a firm reservation, 15% of the total amount of the reservation will be required, the rest 31 days before the departure of the trip.
Cancellation and Changes
1. Cancellations
The client may cancel the services requested at any time, making the appropriate cancellation in writing (within the opening hours of our offices) and will be entitled to a refund of the amounts paid, with the exception of 15% of the total cost of the trip as compensation.
The cancellation penalty will be applied from the moment the booking is made. The percentage to be applied, always on the PVP in force, will be increased depending on the date of cancellation with respect to the date of commencement of the trip, as follows (in addition to 15%):
Cancellation between 30 and 15 days: 25%.
Cancellation between 14 and 5 days: 50%.
Cancellation between 4 and 1 day: 80%.
Cancellation less than 24 hours before or no-show on the day of departure: 100%.
Changes
All changes must be communicated in writing (within our office opening hours).
a) Changes to the date of travel
Changes are allowed free of charge, if communicated more than 120 days in advance.
Communicated between 120 and 31 days in advance: 15% compensation.
Changes to the date of travel are not permitted less than 31 days before the departure date of the trip.
b) Changes in the identity of passengers:
Changes to the identity of one of the two passengers travelling in a double room are permitted up to 5 days before the departure date of the trip.
No changes in the identity of the two passengers travelling in a double room or of the passenger travelling in a single room are permitted. Such changes will be considered Cancellations.
The train
The cosy classic décor of El Expreso de La Robla invites you to relax and enjoy the pleasure of the trip, both in its berths and in its comfortable lounge cars.
The entire train is connected internally, facilitating the free transit of passengers.
Standard compartment
Berth with two bunk beds and equipped with bathtub or shower in which every centimetre is used up to ensure passengers enjoy all the comforts.
It has two bunk beds (0.70 x 1.80 m. each), wardrobe, reading light, adjustable air-conditioning and its own bathroom with shower, sink, toilet and hairdryer.
Lounge cars
The common spaces of the La Robla Express are made up of three comfortable lounge cars with permanent bar service, fitted out with large windows to enjoy the landscape as we pass by.
The rooms have air conditioning, a PA system and a music system. The traveller will have free internet connection.
Life on board
To travel on the Robla Express is to travel in a modern tourist train, which was born in 2009 in the image of vintage trains, with all the current comforts at an affordable price.
A train with three lounge cars where life takes place during the day on the routes it runs, bar car, restaurant car and lounge. Buffet breakfasts are served every morning. Although normally, to make the most of the visits, we have lunch and dinner featuring typical cuisine in the towns we visit (including water, wine, soft drinks and coffee).
Tours are always guided and include all tickets and visits. A bus always accompanies the train to bring the group closer to the visits and to the restaurants on the route.
The train also has 4 sleeper carriages. Each berth has two bunk beds, wardrobe, reading light, air conditioning, public address system, telephone, etc... in a modern and youthful atmosphere. Each berth has its own bathroom, sink, toilet and hair dryer. The current is 220 v.
We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes during the day when you are visiting different places. To help you rest, after the end of the day, the train shall remain standing at the station during the night, allowing the customer to move freely.
The entire crew of the Expreso de La Robla is at your disposal 24 hours a day, trained to offer personalised attention in several languages. The team is led by a Train Manager, who will manage the entire experience on board, guaranteeing the highest service quality on and off the train.

Día 1. León - San Feliz - Valporquero - Cistierna
Passengers are welcomed in León mid-morning, and the experience begins after lunch. The journey begins in San Feliz, where the train awaits to start the trip. The day combines nature and scenery in the area around the Hoces de Vegacervera, before reaching the Valporquero Caves, one of the most spectacular underground sites in northern Spain. In the afternoon, the train continues to Cistierna, where dinner is served and guests spend the night at the destination.
Día 2. Cistierna - Palentine Romanesque - Espinosa de Los Monteros
Breakfast on board as the train travels towards the region of Palencia, arriving in Guardo. From there, by coach, the day is devoted to exploring Romanesque art along the Camino de Santiago, with visits to Saldaña, Carrión de los Condes, and Frómista, as well as the Roman Villa of La Olmeda. After lunch, the journey continues to Espinosa de los Monteros, where dinner is served and overnight stay in Burgos, in a spectacular mountain setting.
Día 3. Espinosa de los Monteros - Bilbao
Breakfast on board as the train crosses the Mena Valley on its way to Bilbao. Upon arrival, a panoramic tour of the city and the Guggenheim Museum, one of the great icons of contemporary architecture. Free time and end of the trip.

Día 1. Oviedo - Viveiro
Reception of passengers in Oviedo in the early afternoon and the start of this railway experience connected to the Camino de Santiago. After the guided tour of the historical centre, with special attention to the Cathedral and the Cámara Santa, a welcome toast is held on board. Catered dinner served on board as the train begins its journey to Galicia. Journey by night to Viveiro.
Día 2. Viveiro
Arrival in Viveiro and breakfast on board. The day begins with the opportunity to undertake the first leg of the Camino de Santiago between Ferrol and Pontedeume, or to discover gems of the Galician coastline such as the Cabo de Estaca de Bares, Playa de Bares, and O Barqueiro. Free time for lunch and an afternoon reunion between pilgrims and passengers. Dinner and night in Viveiro.
Día 3. Viveiro - Ortigueira
Breakfast on board as the train heads to Ortigueira. From there, the pilgrims continue their Camino from Pontedeume to Abegondo, while the rest of the group enjoys a visit to the Sanctuary of San Andrés de Teixido and Cedeira. Afternoon reunion and dinner at leisure. Overnight in Ortigueira.
Día 4. Ortigueira - Ferrol
During breakfast, the train travels to Ferrol. The day combines continuing the Camino stage from Abegondo with a visit to A Coruña for the rest of the passengers, with free time for lunch. Return to the train in the afternoon and group dinner. Night in Ferrol.
Día 5. Ferrol - Santiago de Compostela - Oviedo
Breakfast on board and transfer for the pilgrims to complete the final stage of the Camino to Santiago de Compostela. Free time in the city before regrouping with the rest of the group. In the afternoon, return to Ferrol and the departure of the train for Oviedo takes place during dinner on board. Night in transit.
Día 6. Oviedo
Early arrival in Oviedo. Breakfast on board and farewell to the crew. End of the journey.
